subtitle.im

subtitle.im is a Chrome extension for YouTube viewers who want fewer manual caption adjustments. It automatically enables existing captions when available and uses local OCR to detect subtitles burned into the video. It manages duplicate switchable YouTube captions according to your preferences, and you can restore captions at any time. Video frames and subtitle text used for recognition are processed locally in your browser. A free allowance is available; Pro adds ongoing automatic handling and rules for channels and videos. It does not generate, translate, or download subtitles, or remove text embedded in the video.
