QuillBill

QuillBill is a free, open-source document generator for freelancers and small businesses. It produces six document types invoices, quotations, proposals, receipts, purchase orders and timesheets, with 15 templates and clean PDF output.

Its distinguishing feature is how sharing works. There is no backend, so a shared document is not stored anywhere: it is compressed into the link itself. The recipient opens a working document with no account and no download, and there is no server copy to leak or expire.

It handles per-line tax rates for GST and VAT documents that mix rates in one invoice, and documents the tax-invoice requirements for nine jurisdictions the UK, UAE, Nigeria, India, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, the USA and EU cross-border supply. Word and Excel versions are downloadable for people who want a file rather than an app.
