I built OpenFile as a free MIT licensed app to handle files in the browser. It covers PDF tasks like merge, split, compress, sign and OCR, plus images such as HEIC, WebP and AVIF with local AI background removal, and video and audio work using ffmpeg in WebAssembly. It also handles fonts, archives and dev formats. The app works offline and your files never leave your device.
