About Keyameleon
Keyameleon is a free, open-source macOS menu bar app that gives each physical keyboard its own input source. Plug in your external Italian, German or UK keyboard and it types in that layout, while your MacBook's built-in keyboard stays on US, with no manual switching. It watches which keyboard each keystroke comes from and switches the input source automatically, then verifies the switch. It never modifies or injects keystrokes. Signed and notarized, updates via Sparkle, installable as a DMG or via Homebrew. MIT licensed. Requires macOS 26.
